Following Xbox’s purchase of Activision Blizzard, Call of Duty fans have been awaiting the arrival of the franchise on Xbox Game Pass. That includes a Call of Duty Vanguard Game Pass launch, as Sledgehammer’s WW2 shooter is one that some fans will be keen to revisit.
Complete with a full (and fairly decent) campaign, more than 25 multiplayer maps, a huge arsenal of weapons, and a divisive but unique Zombies experience developed by Treyarch, the game is rammed with content. So, is Call of Duty Vanguard coming to Game Pass?
Call of Duty Vanguard Game Pass
Call of Duty Vanguard is not currently available with Game Pass, but that looks set to change in the near future. Xbox has pledged to bring both new and classic Activision Blizzard games to Game Pass throughout 2024, and that process has already begun with the addition of Diablo 4 in March.
It is widely expected that some – if not all – of the games in the COD series will be added to Xbox Game Pass in a similar fashion to how Xbox added all of the Doom games to the service when it acquired publisher Bethesda/ ZeniMax.
The plan to bring every COD game to Game Pass hasn’t been explicitly confirmed by Microsoft yet, but we’d be extremely surprised if Call of Duty Vanguard (alongside other COD titles) wasn’t on Xbox Game Pass before the end of this year.
In the meantime, there are plenty of WW2 shooter alternatives you could pick up and play from the Xbox Game Pass games library. Battlefield V is probably the most similar experience, albeit its multiplayer matches are much larger and longer than those you’ll find in Vanguard.
Alternatively, Hell Let Loose is a more strategic, tactical FPS game set in WW2 that will put your brains and communication to the test just as much as your thumbs.
