Lorelei and The Laser Eyes Release Date

Annapurna Interactive of Sayonara Wild Hearts and Twelve Minutes reveals another puzzle adventure game: Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes Release Date: May 16, 2024

The June 2022 Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase revealed an enigmatic game from publishers Annapurna Interactive, who are surely no strangers to this genre. The Lorelei and the Laser Eyes release date is on May 16, 2024, and will be available on the Nintendo Switch and on Windows.

Initially, its release date was announced to be in 2023. However, during the Annapurna Interactive Showcase in June 2024, it was announced that the game was going to be delayed. Nintendo's Indie World Showcase in April 2024 revealed the new release date.

The trailer itself revealed very little about the game but set the tone well – a monochromatic, chilling plot that you find yourself in the middle of.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes story

When the game was first listed on the Nintendo Store, it had the following snippet of text:

“The stage is set. Imagine an old baroque manor, perhaps a hotel or a museum, somewhere in central Europe. A woman wanders in search of answers.

An international auteur. What does he want?
An aristocratic artist. Who killed her?
A vagabond illusionist. Who is he?

And you, the wandering woman. Why are you here?

Watch carefully, observe.
Numbers. Patterns. Puzzles.
Are they all part of a macabre game, a complot, a simple treasure hunt?

We invite you to take a journey into the nightmarish surreality, and answer these questions to solve the enigma of ‘Lorelei and the Laser Eyes'.”

It has since been changed to be less incomprehensible and be more descriptive. Players will take on the role of a woman who was summoned by an eccentric man. The invitation is to participate in a “project” in an old hotel in central Europe.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes Gameplay

This game is described as a “non-linear mystery” and will feature hand-crafted puzzles and riddles which leads the protagonist to uncover the layers of the game's story.

The game is in third-person and will have you explore the strange structure through the experiences of the protagonist. It seems that she has the ability to see scenarios that happened in certain sections of the structure, each one involving a puzzle or a riddle.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes releases on May 16, 2024, for the Nintendo Switch and on Windows.
