In this Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List, we took a look at all of the 40 limited-time abilities and decided to rank them from worst to best. For newcomers and those returning to Brawl Stars, Mutations are abilities that make your Brawler insanely overpowered. However, they can only be used in the Godzilla City Smash Mode. To unlock them, you need to open Monster Eggs, which grant you Mutations among other possible rewards. But for this guide, we'll show you which Mutations we believe to work the best.
Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List – What Are The Best Mutations?
Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List – S – Tier
Overall, the best Mutations in Brawl Stars include:
Gray – Gray's Mutation allows him to use up to six dimensional doors at a time. While it seems like a relatively harmless mutation, it actually enables Gray to become arguably the best brawler in the mode. With extra dimensional doors, Gray can teleport to escape, sneak up on enemies, or frustrate the slowly moving Godzilla player.
However, that's not even the worst part. A glitch with Gray's Walking Cane Gadget allows him to pull Godzilla players into unescapable spots. This essentially makes it a 3v2, giving your team a clear advantage.
Meg – When outside of her Mech, Meg's main goal is usually trying to get into another. Therefore, two additional projectiles to her main attack makes it easier to do so. Essentially, Meg constantly remains in Mech form due to how it easy it is to charge your Super back up again. Overall, this makes it much more difficult to knock her out.
Eve – With a combination of her Super, gadgets, Star Powers, and now her Mutation, Eve could literally spawn an Army. Single projectile brawlers won't have the ammo to dispense of all of them, giving you and teammates an easy shot of wiping them out. Without a doubt, Eve's Mutation makes it tougher for the enemy to focus on destroying your buildings.
Hank – His Super goes off every time he takes damage, making Hank an absolute nightmare. While it seems simple on paper, it causes chaos on the battlefield and makes Hank better in both CQC and ranged situations.
Carl – The extra speed for his Tailspin Super allows Carl to traverse the map quickly and destroy buildings. Furthermore, a faster pickaxe attack means more destruction at a faster rate. These two buffs make Carl one of the best options for the limited-time Godzilla mode.
Ruffs – The extra bounciness of Ruff's main attack made him go from an okay brawler to a really powerful one. Additionally, the added projectile makes the map look like a Bullet Hell title. It easily helps Ruff destroy buildings, and wipe away pesky enemies who stand behind walls.
Rico – Like Ruffs, the extra bouncy makes Rico's attacks much deadlier. You'll wipe out enemies you didn't even intend to thanks to all the bounciness. Plus, damaging buildings and out-of-range enemies is much easier now, while you can sit back from a safe distance. Overall, a wonderful mutation for an already fantastic brawler.
Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List – A Tier
Tick – A combination of Tick's mines, Hypercharge, and mutation make him a nightmare in this mode. If you thought Tick was overpowered, just wait until you face him here. However, he's still squishy enough to take down easily, which prevents his S-Tier status. Plus, his mines aren't too effective at destroying buildings quickly.
Sprout – An Additional Seed Bomb helps in defeating Godzilla and other enemies from a distance. Furthermore, the splash damage from Sprout's attack can be used to destroy buildings and earn progress towards victory. A very solid mutation if selected with a strong team comp.
Melodie – Two additional notes orbiting her protects Melodie from most CQC brawlers. Now if you want to fight her, you'll need to wait until they disappear, or pray you'll survive. However, she can always use her Super to dash over to you and annihilate you and your team. Melodie makes for a great brawler in this mode.
Ash – Like Eve, more Little Helpers makes it tougher for single projectile brawlers to focus on the objective. Furthermore, it allows Ash more time to rush enemies and knock them out. Or, he can take the opportunity to sweep away several buildings with his main attack. Overall, Ash makes for a great selection in Godzilla City Smash.
Max – Unlimited Ammo essentially means Max can damage enemies, destroy buildings, and charge her super constantly. Furthermore, she can use he Super to boost her teammate speed, gain map control, and keep enemies away from your side of the field. Overall, her mutation makes her a viable option for this limited-time mode.
Brock – For an already high-damage dealing brawler to receive an extra rocket upon firing, Brock's Mutation makes him an epic choice in Godzilla City Smash. Overall, his new mutation technically increase this attack width, damage output, and AoE with his rocket fires.
Angelo – Two more projectiles to his main attack makes Angelo worth using in this mode. A fully charged attack enables Angelo the opportunity to greatly damage or even destroy multiple opponents with one shot. However, since Angelo can't heal while aiming, we can't put this ability in the S tier.
Gale – A wider main attack makes Gale even more frustrating to fight. While that looks like all it does, his Star Power Freezing Snow can slow enemies down. This increased attack width just means its easier to charge his Super, push enemies away, and cause madness in minutes.
Poco – Biased Poco main here to tell you that taking damage now heals you. As if Poco didn't already have a thousand ways to heal his teammates. If you play with two other tanks, Poco can keep them alive with ease thanks to his new Mutation.
Stu – A permanently charged Nitro Boost allows Stu to dash and zip around the map. He can evade, attack, destroy, and more thanks to this increased speed. Just be careful not to abuse it, or you might just dash into the wrong spot, at the wrong time.
Surge – Party Tricks now transforms Surge to stage IV instantly along with an increased Super Charge. Just attack Godzilla, charge your Super quickly, and enjoy the rest of the match in Surge's best form. At Stage IV, Surge is easily among the best brawlers in the game. Therefore, we recommend it heavily to our surge mains out there.
Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List – B Tier –
Colt – More range and destructive capabilities makes Colt even more effective. Already a solid brawler, Colt makes for an excellent choice in Godzilla City Smash. While we place him in the B tier, we've known Colt mains who'll make his ability look S tier.
Spike – More projectiles from his needles equates to more damage done to enemies, buildings, etc. While each needle individually doesn't deal a lot of damage, it prevents enemies from healing and puts slight damage on buildings. We recommend using it if you go against ranged enemies.
Bea – a Rattled Hive definitely helps Bea. However, it only really helps in certain situations. Most of the times, brawlers are able to dodge it unless you can chain multiple Bea Stings. Nevertheless, it definitely helps in terms of gaining map control and manipulating enemy movements.
Bonnie – Essentially fires off another projectile in Clyde Mode, with her Star Launcher now stunning on impact. Overall it's useful in traversing the map, stunning enemies, and wiping them out. A very solid mutations that offers Bonnie opportunities to wipe entire teams.
Piper – Like Bonnie and Spike, Piper fires another projectile. From long distances, it knocks out most enemies in one shot. In close range situations, it might be the saving grace to escape an enemy. Regardless, Piper's Mutation provides both damage and a chance to charge her Super faster.
Pam – So, if Pam and Max have the same Mutation, why does Pam land a whole tier lower? This is because Max's speed lets her and her teammates gain map control via her Super. Furthermore, Max is much faster and smaller, making her better at avoiding enemies. Pam's Mutation is still great through, considering her high HP and Super should help keep her alive.
Shelly – A shotgun blast that fires twice? If Shelly wasn't already the queen of CQC, she is now. Overall, this solid Mutation increases her damage output, and ability to destroy buildings. Additionally, more shotgun blasts means more damage to charge her Super. You can't go wrong with the first brawler's mutation in this mode.
Lola – Lola receives an additional Ego, which helps deal more damage over a brief period of time. Additionally, Lola can switch places with her Egos, or use them as cover from enemy fire. Not much to say here, other than that it's a solid choice.
Janet – Thanks to an increased Super Charge rate, Janet can use her Super more often. However, the big bonus comes from the extra bombs she drops. She can use it to destroy buildings safely from above. Or, she can use it to damage enemies or Godzilla. Regardless, this makes Janet harder to hit, and more deadly from the skies.
Grom – His X-Shaped Super makes it almost impossible to avoid. It works extremely well for destroying buildings, pushing back Godzilla, and even team wiping. Furthermore, Grom can focus on charging his Super by attacking Godzilla, and then unleash his attack anywhere advantageous for him. Overall, a very solid Mutation that powers up his best move.
Mandy – Like Grom, her Mutation makes her Super a lot more difficult to dodge. An extra Sugar ray from across the map can potentially lead to more knocked out enemies in a moment's notice. Plus, Sugar Ray can deal damage to enemy buildings, helping Mandy wipe enemies and complete the objective. A very solid mutation, indeed.
Crow – His blades now return to him, creating more damage-dealing opportunities. Crow can keep enemies from healing, from dealing less damage, and even slow them down with the proper set up. Overall, this Mutation just barely makes the B tier, because Crow himself isn't good at destroying buildings. Nevertheless, he keeps enemies at bay almost perfectly.
Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List – C Tier –
Bo – While unlimited mines sounds amazing, you really won't be able to scatter the map as fast as you think. Regardless, it still works extremely well for map control purposes, they all stun enemies if you use Snare a Bear. Overall, a decent Mutation, though not as crazy as you think.
Squeak – His extra projectiles from his Super means more potential damage. Furthermore the increased Super Charge rate helps Squeak take advantage of this ability more often. This, in turn, allows Squeak to damage more buildings at a faster rate. However, this doesn't necessarily make him an optimal choice in the Godzilla mode.
Nita – Summons another Bruce. Unlike Lola's Mutation though, Nita's Bears don't mimic her every move. This makes Bruce easily destroyable by Godzilla, or other enemy mutations. While good on paper, Nita's Bears tend to die quickly.
El Primo – A faster travel time, increased HP, and Super charge rate all sound like nice upgrades. And they do, indeed, help Primo out in a lot of situations. However, it's hard for Primo to charge his Super when these maps provide little cover due to all the destruction. Furthermore, he'll still need to get up close to a building just to deal damage to it.
Belle – Shocker splits into five attacks, which is fine, but not incredible. It seems like it would work well in a 5v5 mode rather than a 3v3. However, it at least provides Belle with more chances to hit enemies and charge her Super. It's okay to use if you really like or work well with Belle.
Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List – D – Tier
Penny – An additional cannon can work if planted in a good spot. It can even help with damaging the slow-moving monsters. But for the most part, it doesn't help Penny win matches. The cannon attacks just a tad too slowly for it to make an impact. Furthermore, enemies can easily blow it up, with all the different buffs from their respective mutations.
Buzz – Increased range for his Super is nice, but it means you'll need to aim even better to ensure you latch onto something. While not a bad Mutation, Buzz doesn't receive other benefits that could help him once he actually uses his Super.
Rosa – Spawning bushes when using Strong Stuff seems pretty useless when it can be destroyed instantly. Furthermore, these Godzilla maps contain little to no shrubbery, making it extremely obvious where Rosa is hiding. However, Rosa can at least use it to heal if she has the right Star Power active. Nevertheless, it's a pretty weak Mutation.
Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List – F – Tier
Frank – Increased movement speed doesn't mean increased attack speed. And while we love the extra health, all it does it just make Frank slightly harder to kill. But with some Mutations increasing Brawler damage output, Frank's health buff means nothing. And while breaking walls with Hammers is helpful sometimes, other times it'll just make you easier to hit.
Leon – Two clones after using Smoke Bomb really doesn't feel like a mutation. It feels more like an extra gadget or Star Power or something. When comparing it to other Mutations, we believe Leon's lands somewhere among the lowest.
Overall, that wraps up our Brawl Stars Mutation Tier List. While we listed what we believe to be an accurate ranking, we understand that players are always finding new ways to use Mutations to their advantage. So, regardless of which Mutations you prefer, you should definitely use any Mutated brawlers you unlock during the event. If you're in a club, the most important thing is to earn Eggs and rewards for your Club. So play with the brawlers that work best for you.
