Warner Bros. recently revealed that Joker is coming to MultiVersus. They recently dropped a trailer of the Clown Prince of Crime wreaking havoc, taking down the likes of Bugs Bunny and Shaggy. To hype the fanbase up, the trailer also featured Batman coming to everyone's rescue only to find his old archnemesis stirring up all the ruckus. While many portrayed Joker in films over the years, there is one particular voice every DC fan is familiar with. Fortunately, Warner Bros. knows what's up and had Mark Hamill return as the voice of the lunatic clown in MultiVersus.
MultiVersus Joker Gameplay
Joker is set to be a Mage in MultiVersus. While Mages are known to utilize ranged abilities, Joker also has a mean swing with his melee attacks. His special skills also have him throwing several projectile attacks. Here's a list of some of his currently known special abilities:
- Crowbarred – Swing a crowbar upward (Chargeable)
- Dirty Dealer – Throw a card projectile that cycles through three various effects
- Blastoff – Fire a rocket launcher projectile (Chargeable)
Being the clown that he is, MultiVersus Joker stays true to his personality. Some of his animations have him vibing and dancing to whatever is going on in his head. On top of that, the Clown Prince of Crime sticks to his showmanship roots as he gives a big bow animation after winning a match.
As of this writing, there aren't too many details regarding Joker. At least we now know that Batman's archnemesis will come out during MultiVersus' relaunch on May 28, 2024.
Mark Hamill Makes His Return as the Joker
Mark Hamill is an iconic Hollywood actor known for his legendary role as Luke Skywalker in the critically acclaimed Star Wars franchise. However, Hamill didn't limit his acting abilities as he also took on a plethora of voice-acting stints throughout his career. One of the most prominent characters he ever voiced was none other than Joker.
Mark Hamill initially played the role of the Clown Prince of Crime back in 1992 for Batman: The Animated Series. Due to the success he gained as the voice of Batman's archnemesis, Hamill received multiple callbacks to reprise his role in several spin-offs and other animated series featuring the Joker.
Hamill took the DC Animated Universe by storm back in the day. In his series debut, he voiced Joker in 14 episodes. He then made a brief appearance in Superman: The Animated Series, starring in three episodes. He then reprised his role for five episodes each for The New Batman Adventures and Justice League.
Due to his brilliance as the voice of the Joker, Hamill was called back once again this time to reprise his role in the Batman video games. He first provided his voice for Batman Vengeance, which launched back in 2001 during the PS2 era of consoles. He then made his return to the video game scene voicing as the clown in Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009 and Batman: Arkham City in 2011.
Not too long after Batman: Arkham City's release, Hamill tweeted that he was retiring as Joker's voice. Apparently, he couldn't stay away from the character for too long as he came back one year later as the voice of the lunatic clown in DC Universe Online.
The last video game Hamill ever provided his voice in was Barkham: Arkham Knight, which launched back in 2015. To see him come back in MultiVersus proves that he can't keep the Joker away from his system.
